Backoffice Overview
The Backoffice is the central administration dashboard for managing your Afterglow environment. It provides tools for content management, user administration, billing, and platform configuration.
Who has access?
Section titled “Who has access?”The Backoffice is available to users with one of the following roles:
- Admin — Full access to all Backoffice features within their workspace.
- SuperUser — Elevated access to Backoffice features without coaching capabilities.

Feature areas
Section titled “Feature areas”The Backoffice is organized into the following sections, accessible from the sidebar navigation. Sections with an arrow expand to show their pages.
- Reports — View platform usage and analytics dashboards.
- Content Management — Create and manage module categories, modules, lessons, lesson steps, answer templates, surveys, survey visualizations, and availability settings.
- Articles — Publish articles and manage article topics.
- Brand Center — Configure your workspace’s branding and visual identity.
- Translations — Manage platform text translations and translation styling.
- Media — Upload and organize media files.
- System Alerts — Configure alert rules, review alerts, and set your notification preferences.
- User Notifications — Manage user-facing notifications.
- Billing — Manage billing contacts and subscription details.
- Journal Management — Configure AI journal assistants.
- Routines — Set up task templates and substance tracking.
- Circles — Create and manage user circles (groups).
- Chats — Monitor one-to-one and circle chat conversations.
- User Management — Manage users and their documents.
- Privacy & Compliance — Handle data export and erasure requests. See Privacy & Compliance.
- Coaches — Manage coach profiles and bookings. Available to admins only.
- Admin management — Manage administrator accounts. Available to admins only.
- Studies — Set up and run time-boxed research studies with participant groups, scheduled questionnaires, and adherence tracking. Studies only appears when the Studies feature is enabled and is restricted to administrators.
- Profile — Change your own email address and password.
Some sections only appear when their feature is enabled for your workspace, such as Articles, Brand Center, Routines, Circles, Chats, Coaches, and Studies. Features are managed by the Afterglow team. Contact your Afterglow representative to enable or disable platform features.
The bar at the top of the page shows the notification bell for system alerts, a button to switch between light and dark mode, and your name. Click your name to sign out.
